. . . just how much cultural criticism is embedded in the (fairly) simple act of mashing two disparate songs together?

About

In an alternate universe, there's a version of me who is a Joycean, with a pipe and a tweed jacket with elbow patches. In THIS universe, I got sidetracked from my love of Joyce by 1) the rise of the Internet; and 2) repeated encounters with the absurdities of copyright (especially in relation to #1) as I was pursuing my M.A. at the University of Illinois at Chicago. So I hurtled out of English Languages and Literature and into the capacious and welcoming arms of Lady Rhetorica. So here I stand, rhetoric scholar, Internet nerd, copyright critic, and burbling not too far from that professional surface, music fiend.
